Resolution chart, 1x

ALE Version: 0.7.2
Description: Portion of a resolution chart constructed by Stephen H. Westin of Cornell University. A set of 4 cropped frames, from the Canon 300D image sensor, was used by ALE 0.7.2 to render the output below. A Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens (at f8) was used to focus the image. All shots were taken at ISO 800, 1/15 sec. (Note that since the chart was not photographed at scale, the pitch values shown are uncalibrated.)

Multi-frame synthesis (normalized)

Description: ALE high quality (Irani-Peleg rendered), normalized.
Command line: pngtopnm b.png | pnmgamma -ungamma | ppmnorm | pnmgamma | pnmtojpeg > b.norm.jpg

Single frame interpolation (normalized)

Description: Interpolated output, normalized.
Command line: pngtopnm orig.interp.png | pnmgamma -ungamma | ppmnorm | pnmgamma | pnmtojpeg > orig.interp.norm.jpg

Multi-frame synthesis

Description: ALE high quality (Irani-Peleg rendered).
Command line: ale --16bpc --perturb-upper=0 --q2 --projective --trans-load=a.t --bayer rgbg CRW*.png b.png

Single frame interpolation

Description: Interpolated output.
Command line: ale --16bpc --dchain sinc*lanc:8 --bayer rgbg CRW_0018.cropped.png orig.interp.png

Single frame

Description: Raw RGB, gamma-corrected output from the 300D, cropped from a full frame. Each grey value represents bayer-filtered color, with one color channel per pixel.
Command line: dcraw -d -4 CRW_0018.CRW; pnmgamma CRW_0018.ppm | pnmtopng > CRW_0018.png; cinepaint CRW_0018.png # to crop
