* fork() a process for GLUT, or do something equivalent.  (GLUT is not thread-safe.)

* migrate algorithms from ALE.  (David Hilvert is OK with relicensing his code
  under AGPL, but check the git logs for code contributed by others.)

* Networking code for clusters, grids, client/server, etc.

* Mini command-line front-end (e.g., offering some subset of ale CLI functions).
